Kirk Ireton Village Field FAQ's

A few frequently asked questions.

Who is in charge of the field?

The field is owned by Kirk Ireton Village Field Trust.  Its Trustees are Frank Marshall, Andrew Rowland, Patrick Rowland and Stephen Jones. Due to the terms of the Lottery Grant, the Parish Council had to lease the field from the Trust, which it has done for a period of 15 years.  The Parish Council is now responsible for the upkeep of the entire field.

A Working Party has been formed who will meet from time to time to plan work and make sure the field is running smoothly.  If you want to join it or simply lend a hand with some practical tasks or have any queries please contact any of the current members, their details are to be found at the end of this leaflet.

Is it finished?

Not quite. Whilst the games area has been completed, the area around it needs time to recover.  In addition the meadow area needs more time to get established.  For this reason, the Working Party will continue the work (any help gratefully received) to make it a more attractive area for everyone to enjoy.   There are no plans for a special opening at present but all ideas are very welcome!

How will use by the school work in the future?

The school will continue to use the field and games area for sport and other activities during term time, but this does NOT mean that others can’t use it at all during school hours.
